Iran’s ‘Command’ gets Grand OFF nomination

The Grand OFF filmfest in Poland nominates Iranian ‘Command’.

The Grand OFF World Independent Short Film Awards in Poland has nominated Iranian fiction ‘Command’.

The short film, directed by Farshid Abdi, has been listed among the five short works nominated for Best Fiction award at the 14th edition of the Polish event.

‘Mirror’ by Rob Zywietz from the UK, ‘Duo’ by Sachin Shivaji Chavan from India, and ‘Tribe’ by Sergi Merchan from Spain are also among the titles nominated in this category.

‘Command’ narrates the story of a soldier who faces a dilemma.

He can’t decide between doing his duty and listening to his heart.

Also written by Abdi, the short’s main cast member is Farshad Bahmani.

The short flick has been screened at the 3rd Zeitimplus shortfilm festival in Austria and will go on screen at the 2020 edition of the Tulipoff International Film Festival in Denmark.

The Grand OFF World Independent Short Film Awards is a cultural event that draws attention on the phenomenon of independent cinema and gives it a proper rank, seriousness and prestige.

The latest edition of the Grand OFF is slated for November 23-28, 2020 in Warsaw, Poland.
